My mother wisely said when my oldest child was born “once a parent, always a parent”. This was offered with a loving, yet realistic intent.

Often our notions of how we aim to parent are deeply challenged as we strive to keep our sense of self, relationships, home and work fulfillment in balance.

While much of a parent’s attention can be on their children so they can be their very best, is there remaining space for that same parent to maintain their relationship to self and significant others so they can also be their very best?

To keep giving, we need to receive and so replenish.

Would a counselling session support you in that process of staying connected to self through the complexity of parenthood?
